The Homeschooling Mother

A homeschooling mother!?!?

Those are three words I would have never thought I'd use to describe myself.  In all honesty, I used to cringe at the thought of homeschooling and actually vowed I would never do it.

Funny how those things work out!

This year will be our first year formally homeschooling our eldest daughter, Sofia.  She is starting her Kindergarten year.  You can read about our decision to homeschool here.

After changing my mind a million times, we have finally decided to use Sonlight as our core curriculum.
You can read about the rest of our curriculum choices here.

As the start of the school year is approaching, my anxieties are lowering and my excitement is building.  I am honestly excited to be teaching my daughters and relieved that this September does not mean being away from my eldest girl for a full day of Kindergarten (although I am sure that there will be days that this will not be the case!)

We have a wonderful homeschool group comprised of families that are relatively new to homeschooling with children all around the same age.  We have music class and a swim and gym program that we do with them regularly.

I wanted to start this blog to share our new homeschooling journey and to document the things we learn along the way.  I'm sure there will be a lot of trial and error, but that will make the adventure even more exciting (or at least I'll tell myself that!).  Glad you found me here at Faith in Small Things...hope you enjoy the read!
