About Me

Welcome to Faith in Small Things!

My name is Nicole and I'm glad you have found my page!  I am new to blogging but excited to share snippets of my life and family.

What this blog is about:

  • My Journey into Homeschooling - I will be starting my first year homeschooling!  It is not a journey I thought I would ever take (not in my wildest dreams...or nightmares?!).  I am very excited about it, however, and look forward to sharing what works and doesn't work for us, our curriculum choices and how we make it work with little ones running around the house!

  • Catholic Faith and Family - My family and I love being Catholic and we learn more about our faith every day.  We look forward to sharing the faith with our children and will share how we do this in this blog.  Every Sunday, I will be posting The Gospel in a Nutshell a brief summary and reflection of Sunday's gospel reading - a perfect read for parents who are tending to little ones during mass and can't quite follow the homily (despite every good intention!).

  • Parenting (our way!) - Our personal experiences in raising 3 little girls!  From natural living, cloth diapering and natural family planning.

From left to right - Sofia, Emelia (Emmy) and Maya

About the title "Faith in Small Things"

"Do not think that love in order to be genuine has to be extraordinary.  What we need is to love without getting tired.  Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies"
-Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

I am not a perfect mother and I certainly do not have all the answers! But, what I do have is great love for my family and my faith.  Using this as a starting point, I am growing into the mother I want to be.  "Faith in Small Things" is my journey into motherhood, Catholic family living and homeschooling.  I'm raising little saints, and it is my most important job to date!
